THE VINEYARD & THE CELLAR

The entire vineyard has been cultivated using biodynamic methods since 2008, with the aim of producing organic wine. Interventions in the vineyards and the cellar are carried out, as far as possible, in accordance with lunar cycles and natural rhythms. We use dynamized preparations that strengthen the vines’ natural resistance by revitalizing and regenerating the soil. Here, there are no “weeds”; the ecosystem must be preserved, and our environmental approach is considered holistically.

A range of local grape varieties

The history of the estate has led us to work on four very specific terroirs, spread across Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Orange, Piolenc, and Uchaux. Combined with judicious choices from the range of local grape varieties, some of which are sometimes forgotten, they allow us today to offer a wide range of wines, each with its own character.

Several winemaking methods

Crafted from vine to bottle with minimal intervention, our 15 wines are the result of many years of experimentation in the cellar.  Our winemaking methods and the types of tanks used vary considerably depending on the wine. The only constant remains the pursuit of quality and meticulous craftsmanship.

OUR LOCAL AREAS

Three recognized designations

Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC

Our Châteauneuf-du-Pape vineyards are located in the northern part of the appellation, on a terroir of sand and sandy loam, with few rounded pebbles. This loose soil allows the vine’s root system to explore easily and deeply, thus reducing the water stress typical of our region. It gives the wines an ethereal structure, immediate fruitiness, and very fine tannins. We cultivate the following grape varieties for the reds: Grenache Noir, Syrah, Counoise, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault; and Grenache Blanc, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, and Clairette for the whites.

Finesse & power

Massif d'Uchaux
(AOC Côtes du Rhône Villages)

Located about ten kilometers north of Orange, the vineyards of “St-Martin de Jocundaz” and “La Louronne” lend their names to the wines. Their remarkable siliceous-calcareous sandstone is perfectly suited to the vines, which find warmth and deep reserves there. The area is surrounded by pine and holm oak woods, a typical environment of the massif, and a key factor in maintaining the balance of a very active ecosystem. The grape varieties grown here are Grenache Noir, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Counoise for the reds; and Grenache Gris and Viognier for the whites.

Balance & Minerality

Côtes du Rhône AOC

Located largely in the siliceous “Combe des Avaux,” at the foot of the Uchaux Massif, our Côtes du Rhône vineyards encompass the Grenache Noir, Gris, and Blanc, Carignan, Mourvèdre, and Clairette grape varieties. The environment is much the same as on the massif itself: pine and holm oak woods, interspersed with olive trees. On these siliceous sandy soils, the vines express fruity, mineral, and luscious notes, with a remarkable freshness.

Freshness & Fruits

Wines of France

Our French wines come from the deep, silty clay-limestone soils surrounding the estate in Piolenc. Despite their location on the plains, these plots drain well, and with the help of cover cropping, the vines express themselves remarkably. The red grape varieties grown here are Syrah, Merlot, Caladoc, Alicante, and Couston; the white grape varieties are Rolle, Marsanne, and Sauvignon.

THE CELLAR

The meticulous production of our organic wines

Making 15 different wines involves a variety of wineries and winemaking methods: our reds are vinified and aged in concrete tanks and demi-muids for some; as for our whites, they go through stainless steel, wood or even terracotta.

A rigorous selection of grapes during harvest, along with meticulous and precise work in the cellar, allows us to significantly reduce the amount of sulfites in our wines. We therefore work without any additives  until bottling, and we follow the lunar calendar for racking, decanting, and blending.

Most of our wines have been around for about ten years, but that doesn’t stop us from regularly experimenting with new styles. Our Louronne and Orange wines, made from 100% Grenache Gris, are the result of successful first attempts. By proceeding cautiously, modifying a few components with each vintage, we develop, balance, and refine our range. You’ll be able to recognize our direction and our identity by tasting all of our wines.
