Tasting
The wine is a deep garnet color with purple highlights. The initial nose is very rich, intense, and peppery, quickly giving way to notes of Morello cherry, cocoa, blackberry, and baked apple. The palate is dense, powerful, and balanced. The tannins are fine, chiseled, and well-integrated, revealing a perfectly ripe wine with aromas of black fruit and mocha, yet remaining fresh and crisp to express great finesse and a long, lingering finish.

2022 Vintage:
“There’s a touch of volatile acidity that may or may not appeal to everyone, with aromas of garrigue, plums, and licorice on the nose. Round, full-bodied, rich, and concentrated, the wine is much better on the palate, with a lovely length, red fruit, chalk, salt, and a hint of cocoa on the finish.”
94/100 – James Suckling
“An exceptionally fragrant Châteauneuf with a very floral nose! Very elegant, this aroma lingers delicately on the palate. Then the tannins arrive, a note of licorice appears, and the minerality unfolds into a long and characteristic finish. 95% of this wine is Grenache planted between 1880 and 1948.”
